Bengaluru/IBNS/UNI: Karnataka Police have registered an FIR against Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and Congress leader BR Naidu for allegedly posting derogatory content against BJP leaders on social media.

The FIR was lodged at the High Grounds police station, and the accused have been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including promoting enmity between different groups, intentional insult, criminal intimidation, and making of false documents.

The Congress party is accused of distorting BJP's campaign posters and conducting a derogatory campaign on social media platforms.

The FIR was filed based on a private petition submitted by Yogendra Hodaghatta, a former secretary of the BJP Legal Cell, before the Special Court for People’s Representatives in Bengaluru.

The court ordered an investigation into the charges of forgery and spreading hatred between groups in connection with the alleged derogatory posters circulated by the Congress party.
