Fight against COVID 19: Delhi on lockdown till Mar 31

New Delhi/IBNS: In a bid to fight against Coronavirus, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said the national capital will remain under lockdown from  6 AM on Monday till Mar 31.

Kejriwal said essential services will be available during this period.

"Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures. Delhi will be under lockdown from tomorrow 6 AM until 31st March. Certain exceptions have been made to ensure essential items are available for purchase and basic services continue to operate," Kejriwal tweeted.

The Haryana Government said it issued lockdown orders for 7 districts of the region.

They are Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, Panipat, Jhajjar, Rohtak, Panchkula.

The lockdown will remain applicable from Mar 22 to Mar 31.

India has reported seven COVID 19 deaths so far.

The number of infected people in the country has crossed 300.

Kejriwal made the announcement on a day when India is observing 'Janata Curfew'.

It is the latest measure announced by the Indian government to fight COVID 19 outbreak.

The virus outbreak, which originated from China, has now spread over 150 nations around the globe.
