Everyone who lives in India is Hindu by identity: Bhagwat

New Delhi, Sept 19 (IBNS):  Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Wednesday said people who live in India are 'Hindu' by identity.

"All those who live in India are Hindu. They hesitate to say that. All people are our own. Our tradition is unity," he was quoted as saying at the RSS conclave.

Bhagwat on Tuesday said "Hindutva" means inclusivity and accepting Muslims are part of it.

Speaking at a three-day conclave called 'Bhavishya ka Bharat - an RSS perspective', Bhagwat said: "Hindu Rashtra does not mean there is no place for Muslims."

"Hindutva means Indianess and inclusivity. If we don't accept Muslims, it is not Hindutva," said the RSS chief.

Taking a note of Rahul Gandhi's comparison of RSS with Muslim brotherhood, Bhagwat, without taking the name of Congress President, said: "The Sangh talks of a global brotherhood. This brotherhood envisages unity in diversity. This is the tradition of Hindutva. That's why we call it a Hindu Rashtra."

He also lauded the role of the Congress party in achieving the freedom for the country.

The RSS of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is the ideological mentor of the ruling BJP.
