Esha Gupta puts sarcastic tweet over Aadhaar Card linking

| @indiablooms | Dec 21, 2017, at 11:26 pm

Mumbai, Dec 21 (IBNS): Bollywood actor Esha Gupta went bold even on Aadhaar linking controversy by putting a sarcastic tweet on Thursday.

Speaking about Aadhaar, whose validity is yet to be decided by the Supreme Court, Esha tweeted: "Let’s link our adhaar card with every info so it’s easier for the govt to keep a tab on us.. (trollers welcome)."

Though it is not totally clear whether she is supporting the government's move or not, apparently the tweet seems to be sarcastic.

The apex court is yet to hear on the validation of Aadhaar card.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has ruled an extension of the deadline for Aadhaar-linking with mobile phones, bank accounts and government schemes to March 31, 2018 recently.

The Central government in last week extended the deadline for mandatory linking of Aadhaar and PAN with bank accounts indefinitely.

According to reports, the revenue department under the Union Finance ministry has issued a new set of rules amending the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) rules (maintenance of records), 2005.
