Engineering school students in Odisha demand online examination to prevent Covid-19 spread
Bhubaneswar/UNI: Students of various engineering schools in Odisha on Tuesday held demonstrations demanding cancellation of offline examination scheduled for tomorrow.
The students demanded the authority to announce a date for conducting the exams online after some students tested Covid positive.
The students alleged that the offline examination will lead to further spread of the virus and demanded the examination be conducted online.
The students of Bhubanananda Odisha School of Engineering at Cuttack demanded to conduct the exam online after three students were tested Covid positive on March 27 last.
They also demanded to conduct tests of other students and sanitisation of the school and the hostel building.
Sources here said the students of Umacharan Patnaik Engineering College, Berhampur, Remuna government Polytechnic College, Jharsuguda Engineering school , S K DAV government Engineering school, Rourkela, UGIE Rourkela, and the students of Sarang Engineering Diploma SChool in Dhenkanal also held demonstrations in front of their institutions demanding online examination.
