Encounter on in J&K, 1 militant killed

Srinagar, July 9 (IBNS): In a fierce gunfight, which started on Wednesday afternoon in Handwara area of north Kashmir, one militant was killed while an Army jawan was injured.
According sources,  joint teams of the government forces launched combing operation in the area of Hamla Pati in Handwara in the district.
 
According to reports, forces have an information of presence of at least 3 militants.
 
The government forces zeroed the area and opened heavy firing with automatic weapons and tried to break the cordon.
 
In the ensuing gun battle one militant was killed and one security personal was injured.
