New Delhi, Feb 7 (IBNS): Elections to at least four Rajya Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir will be held on Saturday, media reports said.

Altogether seven candidates will participate in the fray including Congress’ Ghulam Nabi Azad, currently Leader of Opposition in the Upper House of Parliament.

Besides Azad, the other contestants are Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s Mir Mohammad Fayaz and Nazir Ahmad Laway; Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s Shamsher Singh and Chander Mohan Sharma and Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo and Nasir Aslam Wani of National Conference (NC).

Sources said both BJP-PDP and NC-Congress are fighting the elections under seat sharing arrangements. The PDP, with 28 seats, emerged as the single-largest party in the J&K Assembly that is currently in suspended animation. The BJP has 25 seats in the 87-member house.
