Election Commission to announce Lok Sabha poll dates tomorrow

| @indiablooms | Mar 15, 2024, at 06:36 pm

New Delhi/IBNS: The Election Commission of India (ECI) will announce the dates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections at 3 pm on Saturday.

The announcement will be live streamed on all social media platforms.

The Model Code of Conduct, which prevents the government from announcing any new policies, will come into place immediately after the announcement of the poll dates by EC.

The 2024 Lok Sabha elections will set the stage for an electoral fight between Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and disparate opposition forces across the country.

In the elections, Modi aims to return to power for the third consecutive term as the BJP is buoyant by the recent assembly poll results and an apparent crumbling down of the opposition bloc, INDIA.

The 543 Lok Sabha seats from across the country will be up grabs from the political parties, which are finalising their candidates for the mega battle.

Among all states, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal are the top three states with the most number of seats.
