Earthquake hits Bay of Bengal, tremors felt in Kolkata

New Delhi, May 21 (IBNS); A moderate earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter Scale hit Bay of Bengal region as tremors were felt in several Indian cities on Wednesday, officials said.
The earthquake occurred  at around 9:52 pm.
 
The epicentre of the earthquake was located at 18.3 degree north and 87.9 degree east, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
 
No tsunami alert has been issued so far.
 
Tremors were felt in several places across India like Kolkata, Delhi-NCR, Chennai and Bhubaneshwar.
 
No casualty or damages to properties has have been reported so far.
