EAM S Jaishankar holds bilateral talks with counterparts from four Central Asian nations

New Delhi/UNI: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday held bilateral talks with the visiting Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan, on the sidelines of the Third India-Central Asia Dialogue here.

Jaishankar had held bilateral talks with the Tajikistan Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin on Saturday.

Tweeting on the talks today with Mukhtar Tileuberdi, the Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, he said the two sides had good discussions, which focused on expanding their bilateral economic and energy cooperation.

“Good discussions with DPM and FM Mukhtar Tileuberdi of Kazakhstan.

“Focused on expanding our economic and energy cooperation.

“Appreciated our joint deployment in UN peace keeping.”

On his talks with Abdulaziz Kamilov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, he tweeted that they were meeting for the sixth time this year. He said their recent trilateral discussions with Iran on the Chabahar port are noteworthy.

“Met Uzbekistan FM Abdulaziz Kamilov for the sixth time this year.

“Trilateral discussions with Iran on Chabahar are noteworthy.

“Our development partnership can make a difference in urban infrastructure.”

On his talks with the Turkmenistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, he tweeted that the two held useful exchange of views, and shared perspectives on security, energy and connectivity.

“Useful exchange of views with Turkmen DPM and FM Rashid Meredov.

“Shared perspectives on security, energy and connectivity.”

On his talks with Ruslan Kazakbaev, the Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan, he said it was the latter’s first ever visit to India. The agenda of talks covered telemedicine, IT, education and heritage conservation.

“Welcomed FM Ruslan Kazakbaev of Kyrgyz Republic on his first ever visit to India.

“Our agenda covered telemedicine, IT, education and heritage conservation,” he posted.
