Drugs-in-cruise case: Aryan Khan granted bail after 3 weeks in custody

Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan has been finally granted bail after over three weeks in jail by the Bombay High Court, media reports said.

The 23-year-old has been in custody since October 3, after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials raided a rave party on a cruise ship.

He had been lodged in Mumbai's Arthur Road jail since October 8 and denied bail twice before.

His counsels had repeatedly argued that no drugs had been found on him.

NCB contended that he was part of illicit drug dealings revealed by his WhatsApp chats.

Justice NW Sambre allowed bail to the three accused after hearing the arguments of former Advocate General Mukul Rohatgi for Aryan Khan and ASG Anil Singh for the Narcotics Control Bureau.

It was being debated whether Aryan Khan's arrest was justified as there was no proof of consumption or recovery of drugs in his case.

According to media reports, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmum Dhamecha have also been granted bail.

Further, Aryan, Arbaaz and Munmun will not be released from the jail until the detailed order of the bail is released, which can be tomorrow. In that case the three accused can be released on Friday or Saturday.
