Did Congress face the heat of demonetisation: Narendra Modi

| @indiablooms | Nov 16, 2018, at 04:07 pm

Shahdol, Nov 16 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday attacked the Congress over the issue of note ban and questioned whether it is still criticising the issue as they faced the heat of the Centre's 2016 move.

"Even today, the Congress cries fowl of demonetisation. Why is it so? Because they faced the heat of demonetisation. I promise the people that our fight against corruption won't end. Those who have looted the poor, must return what they have looted," Modi said while addressing a public rally in the state.

Modi said people cannot trust the Congress as they did not fulfill the promises made in the manifesto when they were in power in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh earlier.

" How can anyone trust Congress? When they were in power in MP and Chhattisgarh, they did not fulfill even what they had promised in their election manifesto," Modi said.

Modi said the Congress party only 'manufacture' lies but people of Madhya Pradesh are aware of it now.

"Congress manufactures lies and spreads it. But now people are more aware. They know about Congress' lies," he said.

The state polls will be held on Nov 28. The counting of votes will take place on Dec 11.

The Madhya Pradesh polls are crucial for both the Congress and ruling BJP ahead of the next Lok Sabha elections, which will be held in few months' time.
