New Delhi/IBNS: The Lajpat Nagar central market in the national capital Delhi has been shut down till further notice for flouting the COVID-19 norms, media reports said.

Earlier, markets in East and West Delhi were also shut down for the same reason.

The markets in Laxmi Nagar, Kishan Kunj, Guru Ramdas Nagar have now reopened days after they were shut for three days.

The Punjabi Basti and Janata markets in the Nangloi area have been shut till Jul 6.

After two months of anti-COVID-19 lockdown, shops were allowed to open on an odd-even basis though the rule was lifted later.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had called the lockdown in mid-April to contain the spread of coronavirus.
