Delhi Police arrest Indian Mujahideen terrorist Ariz Khan

New Delhi, Feb 14 (IBNS): In a major development, one of the key Indian Mujahideen terrorists, who was present at Batla House during the 2008 encounter, has been arrested by the  Delhi Police’s Special Cell.

The arrested person has been identified as Ariz Khan, allegedly one of the bomb makers of the terror outfit.

He has been  on the run since the 2008 Batla House encounter.

DCP Special Cell, Pramod Singh was quoted as saying by News18, “He was one of the main conspirators of Indian Mujahideen and there were plans of reviving the organisation along with SIMI.”

Police sources told the news channel Ariz Khan alias Junaid was arrested from Nepal. 

Pramod Singh told mediapersons that  Khan was  involved in many bombing incidents including the 2008 Delhi serial blasts.

He said Khan was an expert bomb maker, conspirator and executioner. At least 165 people were killed in the incidents.

Khan was  present at Batla House, along with four others, on Sept 19, 2008 in Delhi's Jamia Nagar. In the incident,  two Indian Mujahideen terrorists were killed but he had managed to escape.
