Delhi govt to bear cost for education, upbringing of children orphaned by COVID-19: Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi/UNI: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday announced that the Delhi government will bear the cost for the education and upbringing of children orphaned by the COVID-19.

Addressing a digital press conference here, the Delhi Chief Minister also announced that all such families who have lost their earning person due to the COVID-19, will also be provided financial help.

He said, in the last 24 hours, number of fresh COVID-19 cases in the National Capital have reduced to around 8,500 while the positivity rate has come down to 12 per cent.

''In the last 24 hours, there have been around 8500 fresh COVID-19 cases, the infection rate has also been reduced to only 12.5 per cent,'' Kejriwal said.
