Several people are feared trapped under debris after a building collapsed in southwest Delhi’s Satya Niketan area on Sunday, media reports said.

Two people have been rescued so far, while a search and rescue operation is underway to locate others who may be trapped under the debris.

The building collapse occurred at around 1:30 pm, officials told NDTV.

Visuals from the site of the collapsed building have since gone viral on social media.

An eyewitness told the news channel that at least 50 students were believed to be inside the building when the collapse occurred.

She said a large number of people were present inside the building at the time of the incident as it was a Sunday.
