Ahmedabad, May 20 (IBNS) A New Delhi bound Indigo 591 flight had to make an emergency landing at the Ahmedabad airport on Thursday, owing to technical glitches, reports said.

The flight had taken off from the Vadodara airport after a 20-minute delay, with 177 passengers and six crew members, Ahmedabad Mirror reported.

The flight was scheduled for a 7:45 a.m. takeoff but eventually took off at 8:10 a.m.

The daily further quoted a passenger as saying, "However, there was a delay of 20 minutes after which the aircraft took off at 8.10am. But around 30 minutes after we were airborne, the pilot announced an emergency landing due to a technical glitch. We landed at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at around 9.00am."

The passenger added that tension prevailed among the other boarders upon the announcement of an emergency landing.

"The situation inside the aircraft was rather tense when the emergency landing was announced," she said.

She said that it was later revealed to them that a technical glitch forced the emergency landing.
