Delhi : Arvind Kejriwal summons all lawmakers after poll debacle

| | Apr 27, 2017, at 06:12 pm
New Delhi, Apr 27 (IBNS) : A day after the Aam Aadmi Party's latest poll drubbing in MCD elections, convener Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday called all lawmakers for a review of the situation, media reports said.

In the elections for Delhi civic bodies, the AAP finished a distant second to the BJP, taking a crushing defeat on the turf it has been ruling since it came to power through a massive mandate two years ago.

Party had also bit dust in the recently held Assembly elections in Punjab and Goa that shattered its dreams for expansion beyond Delhi.

The consecutive poll debacles have led to resignations by a number of party leaders, the latest being Sanjay Singh, party's in-charge in Punjab.

Earlier, Dilip Pandey had quit as Delhi in-charge.

MCD polls results show a sharp drop in party's vote share-from 54 per cent to about 26 per cent- in just two years.
