Defence Minister of Japan calls on PM Modi today
New Delhi, July 14 (IBNS): Defence Minister of Japan Gen Nakatani called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.
PM Modi condoled the loss of life of Japanese citizens in the terror attack in Dhaka earlier this month.
He called for greater bilateral and multilateral cooperation against terrorism.
Nakatani briefed the Prime Minister on the bilateral defence cooperation initiatives.
Modi welcomed Japanese participation at the International Fleet Review in Vishakhapatnam in February 2016, and in the Malabar Exercise off the Japanese coast in June 2016.
Nakatani also briefed the PM Modi on regional developments in East and Southeast Asia.
Modi said that he is looking forward to his visit to Japan later this year for the Annual Summit.
