Sonbhadra, UP, Nov 5 (IBNS):  Just two weeks after a Swiss couple was brutally assaulted in Uttar Pradesh, a German tourist was on Saturday attacked in Sonbhadra district, located in the eastern part of the city, media reports said.

The accused has been arrested by the police.

The victim has been identified as Holger Eric, who arrived in Sonbhadra to visit the Agori Fort.

Eric was attacked at the Robertsganj railway station.

According to the accused, Aman Yadav, it was Eric who hit him first when he greeted him.

However, the German refused to speak to media and said his privacy should not be disturbed.

Only two weeks ago, a Swiss couple was attacked by a group of young men who wanted to take selfies with the woman forcibly.

The victims, identified as Quentin Jeremy Clerc and Marie Droz,  were chased by few men and later were attacked with stones.

The battering left the male victim with a fractured skull and hearing impairment and his girlfriend with a broken arm.
