Covid-19: Follow Kejriwal in implementing Ayushman Bharat in WB: Babul Supriyo to Mamata

Kolkata/IBNS: Urging to follow Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Union Minister and BJP MP from Bengal Babul Supriyo has urged West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to not be egoistic about implementing the centre's Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme in her state amid the coronavirus crisis.

"I sincerely hope & pray that good sense prevails on Honble CM of West Bengal @MamataOfficial & she too follows her friend @ArvindKejriwal in implementing #AyushmanBharat in West Bengal," he tweeted.

"Millions will be benefitted by it• People of WB shud not suffer due to her egotistical ways," he posted.

Banerjee had last year called off her association with the national health insurance scheme citing "dirty politics" by the BJP government at the centre.

The state government had in July 2018 signed an agreement with the Centre to implement the scheme under the joint banner Ayushman Bharat-Swasthya Sathi.

After resisting it for long, the Kejriwal govt has decided to implement Ayushman Bharat scheme now.
