Corruption is the fevicol that binds Mahagathbandhan: PM Modi

Guwahati, Mar 30 (IBNS): Participating in the election campaign trail for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Arunachal Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said 'corruption' is the fevicol (an Indian gum) which is binding the Mahagathbandan led by the Congress.

Addressing an election campaign rally held at Aalo, PM Modi said that the people have become habituated to corruption, brokerage and betray to the poor people.

“They have had a habit of taken for granted. When India killed the terrorists by entering their home, what attitude did they have, you have seen this also. When our scientists shock the world, even then they search for excuses to mock them,” Modi said.

Modi said the people of Arunachal have embraced the BJP with open arms.

“The people of Arunachal have embraced the BJP and its inclusive model of development with open arms and people have witnessed how the North-East is changing rapidly. If we compare this time with the time when Congress and its allies were in power for decades, the difference is for everyone to see. While they completely neglected the North-East and its people, we are continuously taking efforts to enhance ease of living for the people. A strong and stable BJP government in centre will ensure continuous and rapid development for the people of Arunachal and North-East,” Modi said.

“I was fortunate enough to have brought Arunachal Pradesh on the rail map for the first time after seven decades of independence. Parties like the Congress ruled this country for decades and yet could not make this possible because they were never concerned about the welfare of the people, their own welfare is paramount to them always. Further, the recent completion of the long-pending Bogibeel bridge has greatly enhanced connectivity in the region. Similarly, air connectivity from Arunachal was also established during this tenure. Developments like these will go a long way in bringing the North-East at par with the rest of the country,” the Prime Minister said.

He said that, in the last five years he has visited Arunachal Pradesh and NE region more than 30 times unlike previous Prime Ministers who failed to visit in over 3 decades.

The Lok Sabha polls and assembly polls in Arunachal Pradesh will be held on Apr 11.
