New Delhi/IBNS: Amid the fear of Coronavirus in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said he won't participate in any programme related to festival Holi this year.

Modi tweeted, "Experts across the world have advised to reduce mass gatherings to avoid the spread of COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus. Hence, this year I have decided not to participate in any Holi Milan programme."

According to media reports, 21 people in India have tested positive in COVID-19 in total.

In a fresh case, 14 Italian tourists have been tested positive in India.

Modi on Tuesday said he held an extensive meeting over Coronavirus and also asked people not to panic.

The Prime Minister had tweeted, "Had an extensive review regarding preparedness on the COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus. Different ministries & states are working together, from screening people arriving in India to providing prompt medical attention."

"There is no need to panic. We need to work together, take small yet important measures to ensure self-protection."
