Coronavirus outbreak: Indian govt reassures Indians stuck in Iran

New Delhi/UNI: The government on Sunday reassured Indians including fishermen from Kerala stuck in Iran due to Coronavirus outbreak that the Indian Embassy was taking stock of the situation and in touch with the local authorities.

'Received reports on Indians including fishermen from Kerala stuck in Iran due to COVID19. Our Embassy in Tehran is making an assessment of the situation and in touch with local authorities,' Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan said in his tweet.

In an advisory dated February 25, the Indian Embassy in Iran said it was closely monitoring the evolving situation and advised the all Indian nationals to observe advisories issues by Iranian authorities and the World Health Organisation, including wearing masks, avoiding going to crowded places and public gatherings.

'All were advised to keep track of Embassy's website for any updates on the evolving situation,' the Embassy said.
