New Delhi, Feb 13 (IBNS): The controversial film 'MSG: The Messenger of God' featuring Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh released on Friday.
As the film hit the silver screens, security has been beefed up in Haryana and Chandigarh.

Section 144 has also been imposed in various districts to prevent any untoward incident.

Censor board chairman Leela Samson had last month quit amid controversy over the film “MSG: The Messenger of God”. In fact altogether nine Censor Board members had resigned.

In a statement  Samson cited "interference, coercion and corruption of panel members and officers of the organisation appointed by the Ministry" as the cause of her resignation.

Meanwhile, media reports quoted Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore countering the allegation saying that there was no government interference in clearing the film.

The film is produced under the Hakikat Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. banner and features Singh in the lead role. According to the producers, the movie deals with youth-related issues like drug abuse, alcoholism, etc.

The film has seven songs and is being released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and English
