Constable guns down wife in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, July 25 (IBNS): A police constable allegedly shot dead his wife in the broad day light in Chandigarh on Friday, police said.

The incident took place at around 11.30 am when the constable opened seven rounds targeting his wife at the main gate of a state-run hospital in Sector-16. She died on the spot.

The constable’s wife was an employee of that hospital. She was killed by her husband while entering the office this morning.

According to reports, another woman also sustained injury in the firing and admitted to the hospital. But she is out of danger now.

The constable later attempted to commit suicide but survived.
