Conspiracy by vested interest people to push all Rohingiyas into Assam: Himanta Biswa Sarma

| @indiablooms | Feb 22, 2019, at 07:13 pm

Guwahati,Feb 22 (UNI) Assam Finance Minister today said that there is a sudden spurt in infiltration of Rohingiyas in Assam and a conspiracy has been hatched by people with vested interests to push all of them into the state.

"A systemic process has been started by few organisations in the state who have sympathy towards Rohingiya refugees to push them all into minority dominated areas in Assam," Sarma said, adding that since 2017 more than 70 Rohingiyas have been detained from various places in Assam.

"These are still early days but I see specific design by few NGO who in the name of Rohingiyas are collecting donations to help them. We have directed police to find out what is the design and motive of all these people," Sarma said.

It may be mentioned here that New Delhi has handed over two groups of Rohingiyas to Myanmar in last few months.
