Congress politics due to 2019 polls delaying Ayodhya hearing: Modi in Alwar

| @indiablooms | Nov 25, 2018, at 03:34 pm

Alwar, Nov 25 (IBNS): Amid mounting pressure on the Centre by Shiv Sena and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) for the construction of Ram Temple, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday accused the Congress of politicising the justice system over the issue.

"The Congress creates an atmosphere of fear for the judiciary. They tell the Supreme Court to delay the Ayodhya hearing due to 2019 elections. They do everything possible to impeach the Chief Justice. Are those things acceptable," asked Modi while addressing a rally in poll bound Rajasthan's Alwar.

This comes at a time when tension in Ayodha is on rise as Shiv Sena and VHP are holding separate events in the temple town making a fresh pitch for the construction of Ram Temple.

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad is holding a mega religious gathering to create pressure on the Centre to start construction of the temple.

The Hindu outfit will hold a "dharma sansad" to discuss the plan for the construction of the Ram temple.

On the other side, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray arrived in Ayodhya on Saturday and asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to announce a date when the construction of Ram Mandir will begin.

Speaking in the north Indian city, Thackeray said, "When will you construct the temple?"

Accompanied by wife Rashmi and son Aditya, the Shiv Sena chief performed an aarti along the banks of the Sarayu river.

He was scheduled to visit the site of Ram temple in Ayodhya as well.

The Sena is part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) but has had strained ties with ally BJP. It has demanded that the Centre promulgate an Ordinance and declare a date for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.

The local administration has imposed Section 144 in Ayodhya, restricting the assembly of more than four people, as a precautionary measure.
