Dhanani is pitted against sitting BJP Lok Sabha MP Naran Kachhadia.

Dhanani won the state election from Amreli Assembly seat in 2017, 2012 and 2002.

The list cleared by the Central Election Committee of the Congress and released by AICC general secretary Mukul Wasnik, includes names of Parthibhai Bhatol from Banaskantha, Rajendra Thakor from Sabarkantha, Paresh Dhanani from Amreli, Manhar Patel from Bhavnagar, Bimal Shah from Kheda and Ashok Adhevada from Surat.

The Congress has so far released candidates for 355 Lok Sabha seats.

The congress also announced its candidates for the assembly by-elections for Dhrangadhara, Jamnagar Rural and Manavadhar assembly seats in Gujarat.

The by-polls to Manavadar, Dhrangadhra and Jamnagar Rural assembly seats, which fell vacant due to resignation of sitting MLAs, will take place on Apr23, the same day as the Lok Sabha elections in Gujarat.
