Congress manifesto is full of lies: Narendra Modi

Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, Apr 3 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched a scathing attack on the Congress and said their manifesto was nothing but an eyewash.

Addressing his second rally in the state within a week, Modi said: “People who ruled 60 years have done nothing… I have been here for only 60 months, you can see for yourself.”

Both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections will take place in Arunnachal Pradesh this time.

Modi said the Congress election manifesto was not a 'ghoshnapatra but a dhakoslapatra’.

“Till 2014, around 18,000 houses were un-electrified... Just like them (the Congress), their manifesto is corrupt and full of lies. Therefore, it should be called hypocrisy document, not a manifesto,” Modi said.

The focus of the Congress manifesto that was released last week is the NYAY scheme that seeks to give Rs 72,000 a year to the poorest families of the country. Jobs creation, addressing farmers in distress and a one-slab GST are also other importance poll promises of the Grand Old Party.
