Congress likely to name Bhupesh Baghel as Chhattisgarh CM

| @indiablooms | Dec 16, 2018, at 02:07 pm

Raipur, Dec 16 (IBNS): Bhupesh Baghel is likely to be named as the new Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, media reports quoting sources said.

A formal announcement is expected soon after the conclusion of legislative party meeting in state capital Raipur.

This comes a day after Congress President Rahul Gandhi met all the four top contenders for the chief ministerial post of Chhattisgarh.

On Saturday, Rahul tweeted a photograph with all of the four contenders-Bhupesh Baghel, TS Singh Deo, Tamradhwaj Singh and Charandas Mahant.

With the whopping victory of the party in the assembly election, the Congress ended the BJP's 15-year rule in Chhattisgarh. The Congress won 68 of the 90 seats.

The Congress has already announced that Ashok Gehlot would be the chief minister of Rajasthan while Kamal Nath will take charge in Madhya Pradesh.
