Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh attend Dusshera celebrations

New Delhi, Oct 8 (UNI) Congress president Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday took part in the Dusshera celebrations, here in the national capital.

The event took place near Lal Quila and was organised by Nav Shri Dharmik Lila Committee.

Gandhi and Dr Singh fired arrows to set the effigies of Ravana, Meghnad and Kumbhakarna ablaze.

The burning of the giant effigies, signifies the triumph of good over evil.

The Congress leaders also applied 'tilak' on the forehead of participants, playing the role of Ram, Sita and Lakshmana.
