Congress doing politics on death of jawans, spreading fake news: Rajnath Singh

New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI/IBNS) Dismissing the charges leveled by the Congress on Prime Minister Narendra Modi of not being sensitive to the death of CRPF jawans in the Pulwama attack, Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday charged the opposition party of doing politics on the martyrdom of the soldiers.

Talking to a TV channel, Singh, reacting to the Congress charges that the PM was busy shooting for a film in the Corbett National Park even three hours after the terror attack, said, "The charges by the Congress are baseless. No politics should be done on martyrdom of soldiers. There should not be any politics on issues of national security.’’

He charged the Congress of spreading fake news to defame the PM.

On the reports that 30 kg of RDX was used in the blast, Mr Singh said,’’the investigation into the incidents is on. I have asked the NIA to carry out the probe. Let NIA submit its report. Things would be crystal clear after NIA report.’’

Slamming Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan for failing to condole the death of CRPF jawans in the attack, Mr Singh said that what right he had to speak about terrorism as he did not condole deaths of the 40 CRPF men who died in the terror strike a week ago.

On the attacks on Kashmiri youth across the country, he said he has asked the security forces to protect the Kashmiri youth, following the Pulwama attack.

‘’The Government will not compromise on the security of the Kashmiri youth.

Kashmir aur Kashmiri hamare the aur rahenge (Kashmir and Kashmiris have and will remain ours). I can assure that the country will not compromise on the safety of the Kashmiri youth," said home minister Rajnath Singh in an interview to news channel Aaj Tak.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi targeted PM Narendra Modi over the Pulwama issue and tweeted: " पुलवामा में 40 जवानों की शहादत की खबर के तीन घंटे बाद भी ‘प्राइम टाइम मिनिस्टर’ फिल्म शूटिंग करते रहे। देश के दिल व शहीदों के घरों में दर्द का दरिया उमड़ा था और वे हँसते हुए दरिया में फोटोशूट पर थे।#PhotoShootSarkar.'
