Ranchi/UNI: The Congress party has accused the state government of speaking lies over the law and order situation and maoits menace in Jharkhand.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters here JPCC spokesperson Samsher Aalam said that the party condemns the incident of Latehar in the strongest possible words and offers its tribute to the martyred policemen, but the incident clear shows that law and order was missing in Jharkhand.

He said that Union Minister Amit Shah and other leaders of the BJP during their election rallies had hailed Raghubar Das for eliminating Maoists from the state but on the ultras threw an open challenge to the government and busted all its claims.

Even the election commission had said the five-phase election in the state had been decided due to the Maoist problem in the state.

The party also sought answers from the government over the number of Maoists surrendered in the last five years and the money spent by the state government in campaigns against the ultras.
