Cong fields Kamal Nath's son from Chhindwara, Vivek Tankha from Jabalpur

New Delhi, Apr 4 (UNI) Congress party on Thursday announced the candidature of the son of senior Congress leader and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath from Chhindwada constituency, while AICC legal cell head Vivek Tankha has been fielded from Jabalpur.

Congress also announced that Kamal Nath will contest the by-election from the Chhindwara Assembly constituency.

Nakul Nath, the son of Kamal Nath and Vivek Tanha figured in the list of 12 candidates released by the Congress for the Lok Sabha election in Madhya Pradesh.

The candidates' list was cleared by party's central election committee and released by general secretary Mukul Wasnik.

Chhindwara is considered a stronghold of the Congress and Mr Kamal Nath has represented the constituency for 10 terms.

He won the seat even in the strong 'Modi wave' in 2014 and assumed the post of Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh after the party's win in the assembly election in December 2018.

Congress also fielded Arun Yadav, AICC working Committee member from Khandwa, Babulal Malviya from Ujjain (SC) seat.
