Coal scam: CBI files 3 more cases

New Delhi, Aug 5 (IBNS): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday said it has registered three more cases in connection with alleged irregularities in the allocation of coal blocks.

The national probe agency registered cases against Chhattisgarh-based company.

"The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered three cases on charges of criminal conspiracy, cheating and criminal misconduct U/s 120 B r/w 420 IPC and 13 (1) (d) r/w 13 (2) PC Act 1988 against Chhatisgarh based private company & its promoter/Directors; Members of 35th Screening Committee; public servants and others in the allocation of Fatehpur coal block, Vijay Central coal block and Rawanwara coal block respectively. It is alleged that company has misrepresented on aspect of preparedness and was ineligible on aspect of networth," the CBI said.

"Searches were conducted at Mumbai, Raigarh, Raipur and Delhi. Investigation is continuing," it said.
