CM Naveen Patnaik says Centre has neglected Odisha

Jeypore (Odisha), Apr 5 (UNI): BJD supremo and Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik today launched a marathon election campaign in the southern part of the state attacking the central government for its apathetic attitude towards the development of the state and appealing people to vote for the BJD in the 2019 election.

Election for Lalahandi, Nabarangpur, Berhampur, Koraput Lok Sabha seats and for 28 Assembly seats under these Lok Sabha seats will be held on April 11 in the first phase in Odisha.

Addressing public meetings at Kalimela, Maithili, Pottangi and jeypore, Naveen said the central leaders were not seen during at the time of natural calamities like cyclone, flood and drought but visiting the state frequently seeking votes during the elections.

The BJD chief said he was with the 4.5 crore people of the state and will be with them and appealed people to vote for BJD. The central leaders, he said have no concern for the state and are only shedding crocodile tears.

In a bid to woo the support of the Bengali refuges who lives in large number in Naxal affected undivided Koraput district, Naveen said he was aware of the problems faced by Bengali brothers and sisters and promised to look into it.

He criticised the Union government for scrapping the KBK scheme launched for the development of the underdeveloped tribal dominated area and not release of funds for SC/ST students Scholarship for the last two years.
