Cleanliness is godliness, Rajinikanth extends support to Modi's Swachh mission

Chennai, Sep 22 (IBNS): A day after actor Kamal Haasan met Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, Tamil superstar Rajinikath on Friday extended his support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh (cleanliness) mission, creating speculations over the superstar joining in politics.

Rajinikanth has put up a tweet where he said: "I extend my full support to our hon. Prime Minister @narendramodi ji’s #SwachhataHiSeva mission. Cleanliness is godliness."

The superstar's tweet has  again createda widespread speculations over Rajinikanth joining  politics and more precisely the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), at a time when the saffron party is trying to make inroads into the chaotic Tamil Nadu politics.

For last few months, two Tamil actors, Haasan and Rajinikanth, were speculated to join the Tamil Nadu politics and both were also seen at an event organised by opposition party of the state, DMK.

Though Haasan shared the stage with DMK leader M.K. Stalin, Rajinikanth preferred to stay in the audience.

On Thursday, Haasan's meeting with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal, created a new political twist in Tamil Nadu as the two discussed about politics.

Kejriwal even said the actor must join politics as he has the courage to fight communalism.

The Delhi CM has vehemently opposed the Modi government in last few years.
