Civilian shot dead by militants in Srinagar

Srinagar/UNI: A civilian was shot dead by militants in Srinagar, official sources said Saturday.

They said gunmen fired upon one Majid Ahmad Gojri son of Abdul Rehman resident of Chattabal Srinagar near Madina Complex Karan Nagar from a very close range. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he died.

Security forces have launched a massive search operation to nab the killers, they said.

The police have registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of law. The investigation is in progress and police continue to work to establish the full circumstances of this militant attack.

The area has been cordoned and searches in the area are going on, they said.
