Patna/IBNS: Chirag Paswan, who has been isolated in his party by a coup led by his uncle, was removed as Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president on Tuesday in an "emergency meeting" of rebel MPs.

Soon after the announcement, he retaliated by "expelling" his uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras and four other MPs who have revolted against him.

The scenario has led to a fight between two factions of the LJP.

Chirag Paswan's supporters have even blackened posters at the LJP office in Delhi.

Paswan was removed as national president of LJP on the principle of "One Man, One Post", said the rebels, adding that he held three.

The revolt in LJP is led by Paswan's uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras, the younger brother of Ram Vilas Paswan.

Facing revolt, Chirag Paswan had earlier asked his uncle to make his mother party chief.

On Monday, following the turn of events, Paswan drove to his uncle's house for talks but stayed in his car. Paras did not come out to greet him either.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also accepted Pashupati Paras as the new leader of the LJP in the house, which virtually giving a seal of approval on his accession.
