China congratulates Narendra Modi

Beijing, May 23 (IBNS): China on Friday congratulated India's Prime Minister -designate Narendra Modi over his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA)'s victory in the recently held Lok Sabha polls.
Conveying the message to  Indian Ambassador to China Ashok K Kantha, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said the country is willing to work with India to strengthen strategic and cooperative partnership.
 
"During the meeting, Mr. Wang Yi requested Ambassador to convey congratulations from Chinese leadership to Prime Minister-designate, Mr. Narendra Modi. He added that the Chinese Government is willing to work with India to strengthen the strategic and cooperative partnership. Foreign Minister Wang Yi also expressed appreciation for the contribution made by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to India-China relations over the last ten years," read an Indian Embassy statement on Friday.
 
 Wang Yi and Kantha discussed ways and means to strengthen bilateral relations during the course of the year.
