Centre spreading communal tension: Banerjee

Kolkata, Apr 8 (IBNS): Protesting against the Centre government’s proposed ordinance to bring in amendments to the Land Acquisition Act, the Trinamool Congress, led by its supremo and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, organized a rally here on Wednesday.

Banerjee attacked the Centre and said it is promoting communal violence in the country.

Hitting out at the Centre, she said: "Instead of giving good governance to people, the government is engaged in promoting communal violence."

Banerjee said: "We are against forcible land acquisition."

"They are only making empty promises. They only talk of giving funds. Instead, they are busy reducing allocations for most schemes."

She said: "The government is misusing CBI, ED, IT Dept, NIA for political purposes."

She said the CPI-M, the BJP and the Congress are 'brothers' here.

Banerjee said national channel Doordarshan has become 'BJP-Darshan'.
