Ceasefire violation by PAK troops in Jammu

| | Aug 22, 2014, at 03:27 pm
Jammu, Aug 22 (IBNS): In another ceasefire violation, Pakistani troops opened fire late on Thursday night targeting two Border Security Force (BSF) posts in RS Pura sector of Jammu and Kashmir, reports said.

The unprovoked firing took place as mortal shells from across the border landed in villages located on the Indian side causing some damages. The BSF personnel retaliated effectively, sources said.

Pakistani troops had also resorted to unprovoked firing targeting Indian posts at Hamirpur sector of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday night using semi-automatic and automatic weapons.

Tuesday night’s firing was the first such violation of ceasefire since India had called off foreign secretary level talks with Pakistan that was scheduled for next week.

At least 13 incidents of ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops were reported along the Line of Control (LoC) and the international border in Jammu region in the recent past.
