CBI raids unearth corporate espionage racket

New Delhi, Mar 13(IBNS) Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday raided various places in Delhi and Mumbai to stumble on a racket involving theft and sale of policy papers from the Finance and Commerce ministries.

Reports said CBI has arrested three persons including a CA Khemchand Gandhi and a section officer and an under secretary from the Finance Ministry.

CBI sleuths recovered Rs 60 lakh from Gandhi's office.

The documents were sold to Gandhi for anything between Rs 10 to  Rs. 15000 per document, they said.

Interrogation revealed that  Gandhi used to sell these documents to the officials of these corporate at heavy prices.

These documents were sent through couriers.

The eight corporate houses under scanner in connection with corporate espionage dealing with the information of Finance and Commerce ministries are DLF, Glenmark, Novalead Pharma, HDFC Bank, Modril India, Prime Living, IndusInd Bank and Kakardi British Realty.

Earlier, a racket smuggling and selling information of the Petroleum ministry was busted.
