CBI arrests ED deputy director in Odisha over ₹20 lakh bribe allegation

Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Chintan Raghuvanshi, a deputy director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) posted in Odisha, in connection with an alleged bribery case, officials said on Friday,according to media reports.

Raghuvanshi, a 2013-batch officer of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS), was caught in a trap operation after allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹20 lakh, the first installment of a ₹50 lakh bribe, from a local businessman, reported India Today.

According to some media reports, the complainant is a mining entrepreneur based in Bhubaneswar.

The CBI acted on credible intelligence and apprehended him during the act.

He was taken in for questioning and formally arrested shortly thereafter.
