New Delhi/UNI: Accusing the Government of having a crisis on credibility and trust, Congress lawmaker Digvijay Singh on Wednesday demanded in the Rajya Sabha that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) should be scrapped immediately to defuse tension and also announce that the National Population Register (NPR) is withdrawn

“An atmosphere of mistrusts has been created in the country and for this, the ruling party is responsible," he further said.

Referring to the peaceful protests against CAA and National Register of Citizens (NRC), Singh said that the unity in diversity is a major strength.

He also said that after abrogation of Article 370, a delegation of European Union had been taken over to Kashmir whereas the own countrymen are not allowed to go there.

"The Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad could visit his home town only after Supreme Court intervention and the three former Chief Ministers of the Kashmir have been kept under detention," Singh said.
