CAA: PM Modi accuses Congress of fear-mongering

Barhati/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday attacked Congress and its alliance parties and accused them of fear-mongering over the new citizenship law passed by his government.

Modi addressed a political rally in Jharkhand and said the grand old party of the country and its allies are instigating Muslims for political purposes.

"The Congress and its allies are fear-mongering over CAA. The Citizenship Amendment Act doesn’t snatch away any right of an Indian citizen or causes any harm," Modi said.

"We only think about the Mother India. We are living for the country," he said.

Modi said all his government's policies are aiming to benefit the country.

Challenging the Congress, Modi said: "I am throwing a challenge to all Congress and its allies to say that they will grant citizenship to all Pakistani refugees.

Modi asked students to protest democratically.

"Students you should understand that all of you are currently passing through a crucial phase of life right now," he said.

Modi made the remarks at a time when the nation is witnessing massive protests over the new citizenship law.

Meanwhile, Jharkhand will vote in the fifth phase of Assembly polls on Dec 20.

Results will be out on Dec 23.
