Burdwan blast: Arrested JMB leader brought to Kolkata

Kolkata, Sept 30 (IBNS): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday brought the arrested senior Jamaat Ul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) leader Sadik to Kolkata by flight, reports said.

According to reports, a joint team of NIA and Jharkhand state police's Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) on Tuesday arrested JMB leader Sadik in connection with the Burdwan blast from the bordering area of Ranchi and Ramgarh district of Jharkhand.

He was produced in a local court in Ranchi and the court granted two-day transit remand of him.

He will be produced in the Bankshall Court in Kolkata on Thursday.

The Burdwan blast incident had taken place on Oct 2 last year at Khagragarh area in Burdwan district of West Bengal when the explosion in a house led to the killing of two bomb makers and discovery of a cache of arms and ammunition.
