Building collapses in Bhiwandi near Mumbai, two killed

Bhiwandi, Aug 7 (IBNS): At least two people died as a two-storey building in Maharashtra's Bhiwandi area, on the outskirts of Mumbai, collapsed on Sunday morning, reports said.

The building was in a deplorable condition and a notice was reportedly sent in this regard.

According to reports, three families were living in the building.

Some people were feared to be trapped under the debris in the early hours.

Soon after the collapse, disaster control teams from Thane and Kalyan were rushed to the spot for rescue operation.

Local firemen were also pressed into action.
