Budget Session of the Parliament starts July 7

New Delhi, June 23 (IBNS) The Budget Session of the Indian Parliament will start on July 7 and end on Aug 14.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government will present its maiden General Budget on July 10, while the Railway Budget will be presented on July 8.

With not even a month in office, the Centre on Friday increased railway fares with the the passenger fare being hiked by 14.2 percent.

The freight rates have been hiked by 6.5 percent.

New fares will be effective from June 25.

This is the first steep hike in Railway fares in many years.
